On December 22nd, the Winter Solstice, the 23rd "Winter Assistance Day" sponsored by Zhendong Health Industry Group (hereinafter referred to as "Zhendong Group") in 2023 took place as scheduled. At the event, the representative beneficiary, Xie Pengfei, emotionally expressed his gratitude.

Xie Pengfei, from Dianshang Town, Lucheng District, Changzhi City, has a 6-year-old daughter diagnosed with malignant lymphoma. Due to her young age and severe condition, the treatment is expected to take around 2 years, with costs exceeding 600,000 yuan. During their most challenging times, it was Zhendong Group that extended a helping hand. "This assistance is crucial and precious to our entire family and especially to our daughter. We will never forget this kindness," Xie Pengfei said with tears in his eyes.

As the cold wind of the Winter Solstice swept through, the atmosphere at the event was warm. Over a thousand beneficiaries from various counties and districts in Changzhi City gathered, witnessing the warmth of love and the sense of responsibility.

The current "Winter Assistance Day" supported 445 orphans, 482 disabled individuals, and 3,856 widows and widowers, totaling 4,783 people, including 1,006 households with severe illness and special difficulties. The total amount of sponsorship reached 16.632 million yuan. Over the past 23 years of "Winter Assistance Day", a total of 81,000 individuals have been assisted, and a total of 188 million yuan has been distributed.

"This year's Winter Assistance Day also set up four branch venues in Jincheng, Wuxiang, Zuoquan, and Pingshun, aiming to help more vulnerable groups," said Li Kun, the executive president of Zhendong Group, in his speech. He introduced the origin of "Winter Assistance Day" and expressed the hope to bring warmth to the people on the coldest day and turn it into a "Winter Warmth Day."

On that day, representatives from Zhendong Group paired up with orphans, presenting carefully prepared gifts and blessings. Over the 23 years, the tradition of one-on-one pairing and assistance between key members of Zhendong Group and beneficiaries has become a cultural practice, providing support in both learning and daily life. Students from Shanxi Pharmaceutical Vocational College passionately pledged on-site, voluntarily joining Zhendong Group's volunteer service team to continue the legacy of Zhendong's great love.

Before each "Winter Assistance Day", a multitude of assistance requests is received through various channels. To ensure the authenticity of the information, starting from October, Zhendong poverty alleviation staff conducts field visits and research. To ensure that every penny reaches those in need, senior management of the company is fully involved, strictly adhering to the assistance standards. Zhendong Group collaborates with government departments, hospitals, and charity organizations. The application materials are selected by the Civil Affairs Bureau and Charity Federation, hospitals recommend patients with serious illnesses, and Zhendong poverty alleviation office conducts research and review based on the actual situation.

On the path of public welfare and poverty alleviation, Chairman Li Anping and Zhendong Group have never halted their steps. The group has established three assistance days and a Charity Angel Foundation, and a "Poverty Alleviation and Assistance Committee", investing over 1 billion yuan in public welfare and charity over the years.

Zhendong Group made this harsh winter less cold," said beneficiary Shao Laxiang. These sincere words express the gratitude of every beneficiary, but what cannot be fully expressed is the warmth brought by this great love. Charity has long been engraved in the genes of Zhendong people, integrated into their blood, becoming a cultural responsibility. As Li Anping said, as long as Zhendong exists, they will unswervingly persist in charitable public welfare undertakings. This not only helps those in difficulty but more importantly, spreads positive energy in society, encouraging more capable individuals to extend a warm hand and help more people in need.

Currently, Zhendong Group has organized 25 sessions of "Student Assistance Day" for students who have been admitted to university but cannot afford the tuition, assisting over 23,500 students with a cumulative donation exceeding 3.26 billion yuan. For orphans, widowed elderly, disabled individuals, and extremely impoverished families, Zhendong has held 23 sessions of "Winter Assistance Day," supporting 81,000 individuals with a total funding of 188 million yuan. For elderly people above 60 in their hometown and various sub-districts, they have organized 28 sessions of "The Elderly Day". Since 2006, the "Charity Angel Foundation" has been established for national extreme poverty, serious illness patients, and families of medical workers who sacrificed due to special circumstances, providing assistance to over 5,500 impoverished patients with a cumulative fund of 39 million yuan.

"When in trouble, turn to Zhendong" is the greatest hope and comfort for many people in adversity.
